Our Team

Dr. Juan C. Nunez, PT, DPT, CMP, MCMT is a NJ & NY licensed Board Certified Physical Therapist who received his BA in Biology with a Minor of Political Science at Kean University.  He completed his professional training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey where he earned his Clinical Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy in 2003. Dr. Nunez is a Certified Mulligan Practioner and has earned a Mastery Certification in Manual Therapy. In addition, he is well versed in Mckenzie, Total Motion Release, Specialized Functional Movement Assessment and also holds certifications in Kinesiology Taping, Ergonomics, and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization.  With over 17 years of clinical experience in general orthopedics, sports medicine, industrial rehabilitation, pre-/post- surgical care, wellness training, and injury prevention, he has worked with patients of all ages and across all activity levels.  

During his years of practice, he found that many patients came to him after unsuccessfully being given generalized exercises based solely on their diagnoses.  Dr. Nunez founded Top Choice Physical Therapy & Wellness to offer a distinct style of physical therapy where each session varies based on the patient’s response to the prescribed treatment plan. He is meticulous in evaluating and treating with a whole body approach that combines the knowledge and understanding of human anatomy and movement patterns.  He works to restore compromised mobility, stability, strength, and faulty movement patterning through hands on techniques, pain relieving modalities, targeted exercises, and education. He enjoys building a solid rapport with his patients and learning about their lives and their motivation to help them achieve their rehabilitation goals.

Born and raised in Union City, Dr. Nunez brings a record of exceptional leadership, compassion, and dedication to his community. As a student athlete, he was the Captain of his high school football team and received an academic scholarship to attend Kean University. He has given back to his alma mater by sponsoring two scholarships to deserving Union City High School students each year.  He is also an active member of the Youth Transition to Work program which gives him the opportunity to mentor students who are pursuing a career in physical therapy.  Some of his professional affiliations include the American Physical Therapy Association, American College of Sports Medicine, and the American Headache Society.

Dr. Nunez is invested in providing his expertise to give back to the citizens of the community. As a husband and father of two young children, he prides himself in having the empathy and compassion to provide each patient with attention and focused care
